FAQ

Questions, answered.

What size bracket do I need?
Match the bracket length to your shelf: 2 Ft fits up to a 31" shelf, 4 Ft up to 63", and the 2-Pack 8 Ft up to 125". You can also cut a longer bracket down to size.
Will I see the set screws?
No – 99% of the time you won't see underneath the shelf or the set screws. If it's a concern, you can add a filler for the holes.
What's the minimum shelf thickness?
We recommend at least 2" thick when using the aluminum bracket, and never thinner than 1¾". The bracket is 1½" thick, so you want at least ¼" of material top and bottom.
What walls does it work with?
Drywall over studs, plaster, brick, and concrete – anything with solid backing, using the right anchor for your wall type. Anchor into as many studs as possible.
Do I need special tools?
A drill, level, and a router (or table saw) to cut the shelf channel. First-time installs should add the Installation Bit Pack, which includes the cobalt and tap bits needed to seat the bracket.
Shipping & returns?
Free shipping on 2 Ft & 4 Ft bracket orders over $149. 8 Ft brackets ship free in sets of 4 or more (two 2-packs). Plus a 30-day money-back guarantee. Hardware is covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Slim Bracket review

I installed these on (6) 2" thick shelves for the first time. My biggest fear was cutting the groove in the back of the walnut slabs. The slab was expensive and I worried about a blowout, with no spare wood. Following the installation videos, I used the router method. Their videos are awesome and provide tons of info. I ended up making a router base guide using plexiglass and guide boards which kept the router from any side to side motion and stabilized the router on a skinny surface. It worked great. I had to drill a few holes to better line up with the studs that weren't 16" on center. This was easy.

Alex was very helpful ensuring I had the exact dimensions to route the channel in the back of the shelf so I could get them cut while waiting for the brackets to arrive, which came within a week.

Overall, the project turned out great and I have had lots of compliments on the shelves.

Thanks Hovr !!

Floating shelf HW that works

Just installed 6 shelves. The largest being just over 6ft long. Used a frame of poplar skinned with 1/4” baltic birch. Looks great!!!

Tip: ensure both brackets fit the wall before attaching to shelf. Also we sanded the excess mud on the sheetrock to create a flatter surface.

Hi David, beautiful work! Thanks for sharing, your review, and for choosing Hovr! We appreciate you!

Live Edge Shelf

Installation went reasonably well although my shelf thickness was roughly 1-1/4" so the 1-1/8" bracket is visible from the bottom side of the shelf. I left the additional 1/8" shelf thickness for the top of the groove. The brushed silver bracket finish is barely visible. Attachment is very solid and the shelf looks amazing! Excellent product. Very well designed. I will use it again.

Hi Jean, thanks so much for reviewing and using our hardware! Appreciate the kind words!

Slim bracket

Love the addition of the slim bracket makes life easier when finding 2.5” material is tricky ! All I would say is make sure you predrill your mounting screws deep enough if using hardwood. I had 2 of the supplied screws shear off when trying to mount into the back of a live edge walnut shelf

Hi Dan, Thanks for your review and sharing those pics!

The screws issue is a brand new one thats popped up in the last 2-3 weeks that I've never seen before then, but we are looking into it - it's possible we received a bad batch. We're doing our best to get to the bottom of it.
