"I built some floating shelves to hold my son's legos in his room. I used the slim bracket. The process was easy in regard to using my router table to hollow out the back (just make sure to take graduated passes, going deeper each pass). It was easy to install and they work great. I did have to adjust the shape of my shelves to get them to sit right as my wall was warped."

"The actual rails that make up the cleat system are great. When locked down they’re super secure, and really do support a lot of weight. I really like the product for floating shelves that die into a corner. Because the shelf can slide along the cleat on the wall it makes scribing super easy. I do have an issue with the packaging when the cleats arrive. I’ve purchased a few sets of Hovr brackets, and each time it feels like someone has grabbed a handful of different screws and whatever set screws are near them and thrown them in a used plastic bag. This most recent package only had two set screws for two 4’ Hovr brackets. I would like to see some consistency with what’s provided. Overall, great product!"

"Great design. Have installed two brackets on a set of 36" wide shelves. Once the channel was cut they were easy to install. So far my only gripe is the GRK screws that were provided - one snapped off just as it was snugged up to the aluminum. Otherwise they work well with my 1 1/2" live edge english walnut shelves."

"I installed these on (6) 2" thick shelves for the first time. My biggest fear was cutting the groove in the back of the walnut slabs. The slab was expensive and I worried about a blowout, with no spare wood. Following the installation videos, I used the router method. Their videos are awesome and provide tons of info. I ended up making a router base guide using plexiglass and guide boards which kept the router from any side to side motion and stabilized the router on a skinny surface. It worked great. I had to drill a few holes to better line up with the studs that weren't 16" on center. This was easy. Alex was very helpful ensuring I had the exact dimensions to route the channel in the back of the shelf so I could get them cut while waiting for the brackets to arrive, which came within a week. Overall, the project turned out great and I have had lots of compliments on the shelves. Thanks Hovr !!"

A modern French Cleat
"This bracket is very nicely designed and does what it’s meant to do. Taking care to create an accurate mortise, it was fairly easy to hang a heavy historic barnwood mantle. The instructions and associated videos were very helpful, particularly with regards to NOT over tightening the fasteners to the wall. A little wiggle room is essential with old imperfect timbers. Thanks for a great product. I hope to be able to use it again in the future."

One bracket went on Easy; the second one was a chore
"I used the Classic bracket to hang 2 fireplace mantles. Each mantle was 3.75” thick and 62-66” long. The first one hung on the first attempt. Easy. The second was a struggle. It did not mate on many initial attempts. I took it down and belt-sanded a slight bow on one end of the mantle and then I sanded a very small ridge on the wall. Still wouldn’t fit. I took it down again and took the mail bracket off the wall and tried fitting the male into the female bracket on the back of the mantle. It was slightly tight on one end. I used a board against the bottom of the female bracket and hit the board with medium mallet blows over a 3 ft length until the 2 pieces fit easier together. Secured the male piece back on the wall and attempted again and it worked. Not sure what happened but not a good experience on the second piece."

"I was using it to install a fireplace mantle, concrete board behind the bracket wouldnt allow for the matle to lock in. I ended up having to do extra work to get it to lock in which turned my job from 30 mins to about 2.5 hours."

Floating shelf HW that works
"Just installed 6 shelves. The largest being just over 6ft long. Used a frame of poplar skinned with 1/4” baltic birch. Looks great!!! Tip: ensure both brackets fit the wall before attaching to shelf. Also we sanded the excess mud on the sheetrock to create a flatter surface."

"I tried to install the 4’ bracket in a customers home and was not able to due to some wall curve. The shelf needed to be scribed to the wall and this system doesn’t allow for they."
